Rector International Islamic University (IIU) Dr Masoom Yasinzai inaugurated Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Library at the Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD).
Addressing the ceremony, The Rector IIUI said that the libraries are important cornerstones of a healthy community. He said that libraries play a dominant role of democratization of information and knowledge. He laid emphasis that we must motivate students and help them develop a love for reading. The Rector IIUI shared his personal experiences and observations concerning Western societies’ love for reading books. He added that reading is important because it develops our mind and gives us excessive knowledge and lessons of life. It helps us understand the world in a better way. It keeps our mind active and enhances our creative ability. He expressed that he has great expectations from the youth of society. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deans and faculty members of various departments of the university.
