QURAN & SUNNAH THE ONLY MEANS OF SALVATION AND UNITY: DR. AL-DRAIWEESH

Untitled-1 copy.jpg.333Quran and Sunnah should be the only means to seek the solution of all sectarian differences and problems. It is basic and prime responsibility of Ulema to promote inter-sect harmony, tolerance and co-existence among their followers with maximum capacity.

This was said in the joint statement released at the end of one day seminar on “Inter-Sect Harmony, Religious Tolerance; Its Impact on Society” organized by Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue International Islamic University Islamabad in which renowned Ulema, scholars and intellectual from twin cities addressed.

The joint statement further says that it is need of the hour is to discourage and condemn the printed material and literature which may cause the promotion of sectarian fierce and spark violent attitude among the masses by the Ulema of all sects.

The statement also endorsed to take effective measuresto prevent the unethical inclinations including to hold sectarian domination, slander and derogatory tendencies against other sects, launching negative campaign against each others.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh President International Islamic University Islamabad said that IIUI playing key role in inter-faith and inter-sect harmony and promoting peace, love and co-existence among the masses.

He further said that Ummah is facing sever challenges of the time; to get rid of them, Ulema are to play their constructive role. Dr. Al-Draiweesh added that IIUI is a symbol of harmony and brotherhood and playing pivotal role for the unity of Muslim Ummah.

He was of the view that the sectarian differences are the core cause of Muslim decline in the world; the practical implementation of Quran & Sunnah in dealing matters is the only mean to success. “We need to put mutual differences aside with clear understanding and to counter the international conspiracies against Muslims”.

President IIUI added. Dr. Al-Draiweesh informed that enemy of Islam are trying to create misunderstanding and misconceptions among the Muslims to achieve its negative propaganda.

Addressing the seminar, the speakers agreed that the religious tolerance nurtures in social behaviours and the lack of appropriate religious guideline leads towards intolerance in the society.

It was also agreed that the use of force to reinforce particular views on others is highly condemnable and fine moral conduct and values can solve all the problems. They agreed on the point that to avert the hatred move the Ulema are to come forward and to play their positive role and preaching of Islam should be accordingly.

Ulema also agreed that the solution of problems and differences lies in exchange of views. Ulama said that there are extremist elements within the sects and religious scholars, leaders are responsible to snub them.

Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, Dr. Saqib Akbar, Maulana Mohammad Yousuf Shah, Moulana Muhammad Tanveer Alvi, Asif Luqman Qazi, Abdul Qadeer Khamoosh, Dr. Husnul Amin, Dr Mohammad Munir, Dr. Tahir Mahmood, Maulana Abu Bakr Siddique, and other scholars, intellectuals from twin cities also addressed the seminar.
