President IIUI Signs MoUs and LOIs at 6th VC Forum in Rabat

Rabat, Morocco, June 23, 2025 — Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Brunei Darussalam, and a Letter of Interest (LoI) with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) on the sidelines of the 6th Vice Chancellors’ Forum in Rabat, Morocco.

The Forum, hosted by Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and Rector of IIUI, in collaboration with ICESCO, brought together over 200 university leaders from across the Islamic world to discuss innovative ways to shape modern, productive, and resilient higher education institutions.

The agreements signed by Prof. Dr. Shuja with UNISSA and UTM pave the way for academic and research collaborations between the institutions. They are predicated on the desire to foster faculty and student exchanges, joint research and training programs, and the sharing of academic resources and expertise — reinforcing the role of international cooperation in higher education across the Islamic world.
