Dr Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University Islamabad, inaugurated spring tree plantation drive in the campus and planted a tree at the occasion.
The plantation drive was launched at new campus by Department of Environmental Science, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences (FBAS) IIUI. Dr Muhammad Sher Dean FBAS, Dr Muhammad Irfan Khan, Chairman, Department of Environmental Sciences and a number of faculty members along with students also participated in the event. r. Al- Draiweesh emphasized the need to plant more and more trees for a healthy environment.
President IIUI thanked the organizers of the activity and hoped that, as a result of tree plantation drive, IIUI new campus will become further green. He also suggested that the trees need to be planted outside the university campus as well.
He also shed some light on the significance of planting trees in the light of Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). At the end, President appreciated the efforts of the Department of Environmental Sciences for such activities.
