
Islamabad: The President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, inaugurated newly installed drinking water coolers at the university under a Saudi-supported initiative and appreciated the efforts of the administrative team for improving student facilities.
The initiative, supported by Saudi funding, includes the installation of thirty-three water coolers equipped with three-stage water filtration units to ensure clean and safe drinking water for students, faculty, and staff. The units meet commercial operational standards and are fitted with durable components, efficient cooling systems, and warranty coverage for compressors, storage tanks, and other essential parts. In addition to the thirty-three coolers installed in the first phase, further procurement is planned in the next stage to expand access to filtered drinking water across the campus.
During the inauguration visit, the President reviewed the arrangements and expressed satisfaction over the provision of filtered drinking water in academic and administrative areas. He emphasized that strengthening basic facilities remains a key component of the university’s development agenda and contributes directly to student wellbeing and academic performance.
Relevant university officials were present on the occasion and oversaw the coordination and implementation of the project. The President acknowledged the team’s commitment and timely completion of the arrangements for institutional use.
