Dr. Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al Draiweesh President International Islamic University Islamabad inaugurated newly developed website 
and open journal system at Islamic Research Institute IIUI.
On the occasion, he was accompanied by Vice President (HS&R) Dr. Muhammad Munir and Director General IRI Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.
While addressing the participants Dr. Al-Draiweesh appreciated the efforts of IRI for advancing its activities. He said that IRI has taken many new initiatives in last two years including refurbishment of IRI premises, up gradation of IRI Press, establishment of IRI Historical Gallery, addition of Research Support Center, innovation in printing process and launching of training programs writing skills. President IIUI directed that pace must be kept to achieve objectives of the institute.
Dr. Zia-ul-Haq while thanking the support of IIUI authorities apprised that these initiatives have been taken to modernize the services of the Institute. He further added that the new website provides updated information about the Institute’s administration, IRI Council, Research Departments, IRI Scholars, Journals, 
publications, Dr. Muhammad Hamidullah Library, IRI Historical Gallery, Gosha-e-Iqbal, IRI Press, and news including messages of the Rector, President and Director General IIUI have also been placed on the homepage.
The URL of new website is http://iri.iiu.edu.pk. Earlier, Principal Librarian Dr. Muhammad Sajid Mirza briefed the participants about Open Journal System (OJS). He said that this system is being used by almost 32000 journals globally.Through this online system, the editorial process of Fikro- Nazar will be speedy and the readers of Fikro Nazar may read or download their required article from this online system by visiting its URL is http://irigs.iiu.edu.pk:64447/ojs/.
