PRESIDENT IIUI CHAIRS MEETING OF COMMITTEE FOR ONLINE EDUCATION MODE

H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Al-Otaibi, President, International Islamic University (IIU) Thursday chaired a meeting of the committee for online mode of education.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani, Vice President Administration, Finance and Planning , Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President Higher Studies and Research, Prof Dr. Ayaz Afsar Vice President Academics, Deans of the faculties, Director QAD and other relevant officials of the university.

The committee deliberated upon hybrid mode of education on which the participants shared thoughts. The committee also discussed matters pertaining to training, orientation of the faculty and new policy for the graduate students.  The committee discussed matters related to University Requirement courses and noted that such the courses that are of great importance. The chair also desired  to make an assessment and overview of the courses to be offered in future as well as code of ethics should be prepared for online mode of education.

The IIUI President said that there is a dire need to promote independent learning and critical thinking among the students. He said that university is committed to working hard for delivering quality education and producing knowledge in line with the aspiration of Muslim world.

He added that we must focus on the goals , while hurdles be ignored and nullified with commitment and hard work.  Dr. Hathal said that online teaching and learning will be a salient need of the education sector in future. He added that circumstances of global pandemic have doubled the importance of distance education and E-learning. He said universities must focus on the use of modern techniques of teaching and learning through distance education.
