President of Pakistan/ Chancellor of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday lauded the role of IIUI in the promotion of higher education in the country and assured his all-out support for the institution’s uplift.
The president said this in a meeting with IIUI Rector Dr. Samina Malik IIUI and President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi and here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
In the meeting, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that skilled youth is imperative for the country’s bright future and universities needed to equip its students with soft skills, such as critical thinking, effective communication and teamwork, besides providing technical/hard skills.
The university rector apprised the president of the IIUI’s performance and services in the higher education sector. The President of Pakistan was told by Dr. Hathal that the IIUI had formulated a Strategic Plan 2022-2026 to promote research and development, innovation and digitalisation that would also help improve the university’s financial and administrative affairs. On the occasion, The President of Pakistan/Chancellor, IIUI was briefed By IIUI Rector and President on the implementation of new organogram and its implementation at the faculty level in the light of university’s strategic plan. The President of Pakistan was also briefed about the administrative reforms initiated at the university such as provision of the peaceful milieu for students, while he was also apprised on enhanced resource optimization and efforts of digitization.
In the briefing, President Zardari was told that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was extending assistance for the university’s uplift and development. Both the IIUI Rector vowed that the university will keep striving to progress at double speed in the light of the vision of the Chancellor, IIUI.
