Plantation Activities Continue Under Spring 2026 Drive at IIUI

Plantation activities under the ongoing Spring 2026 Drive at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) are continuing at multiple locations across the male and female campuses, reflecting the institution’s sustained focus on environmental sustainability. The drive was earlier inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Acting Rector, and is being implemented in phases at identified sites. In the current phase, plantation work is progressing at key areas of both campuses with the participation of various departments and student groups. The campaign is being supervised by Director Administration and Works Dr. Inam ul Haq, who is overseeing coordination and execution. At the male campus, Student Advisor Dr. H. Ghufran joined students from different faculties in plantation activities at the lawns of Faculty Blocks I and II. Members of the Gym Club (M) and WWP also participated in the drive. At the Medical Center site, Dr. Wakeel, Dr. Shamsher Hayat Khan and their team contributed to the plantation efforts, while Director Business Incubation Center Mr. Ahsen Mirza and his team carried out activities at the BIC site. Parallel plantation activities are also underway at major sites of the female campus. Dr. H. Ghufran acknowledged the leadership’s support for promoting a green campus environment and appreciated the role of the Horticulture Department, particularly Mr. Altaf Barki and his team, in advancing the plantation campaign. The ongoing activities are part of IIUI’s broader institutional efforts to encourage environmental responsibility and strengthen sustainable practices within the university community.
