PARTICIPANTS OF 66TH SHARI’AH COURSE CALL ON IIUI PRESIDENT

The participants of the 66th Regular Shariah Course for Judges, Qazis, Attorneys, Prosecutors, and Law Officers, organized by the Shariah Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), visited the university’s new campus and met with IIUI President, Dr. Muhammad Sarwar.

Led by Dean of the Faculty of Shariah and Law, Dr. Attaullah Faizi, the delegation comprised 24 participants, including District and Session Judges, Qazis, Attorneys, Prosecutors, and Law Officers from across Pakistan.

The 16-week course, an iconic offering of the academy since 1981, provides a platform for professionals in the legal fraternity to enhance their knowledge of Shariah and law.

During the meeting, Dr. Sarwar briefed the participants on IIUI’s achievements, its history, and the institution’s mission and vision. He emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and providing advanced learning opportunities in both Islamic and Western legal systems. The president underscored the importance of the legal profession in upholding justice and maintaining social order.

Dr. Sarwar further discussed the university’s growing focus on distance learning, expressing appreciation for the participants’ interest in exploring open and distance education options through IIUI. He encouraged them to leverage these opportunities to broaden their knowledge and skillsets, both in Islamic and conventional law.

Earlier, Dr. Attaullah Faizi highlighted the course’s objectives, explaining that it offers a comparative study of Islamic and Western legal frameworks, enabling participants to understand their differing concepts and approaches. He praised the participants for their dedication to advancing their professional expertise through this unique educational initiative.
