OWA HOLDS GENERAL BODY MEETING

A meeting of general body of International Islamic University’s (IIUI) Officer Welfare Association (OWA) was held here at Faisal Masjid campus of the university.

The meeting was attended by a large number of the officers of the university, while the body , in its two sessions, passed resolutions relevant to the affairs of the officers community and also announced its elections in the month of April. The house unanimously decided that Mr. Atiq ur Rehman Chughtai, Director IRI, shall be the Chief Election Commissioner. In the meeting Umrah tickets, shields and gifts to the retiring officers were awarded while souvenirs to the promoted officers were also given. The body also approved that amount of the OWA loan shall be enhanced from 50 thousand to 100 thousand and also decided that its contribution amount shall be 500 rupees per month.

The Concluding session was joined by Vice President (A&F) Prof. Dr. N.B.Jumani as Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President apprised of the vision of the university management and he also shed light on the issues of the officers community. He vowed that the management shall leave no stone unturned for the betterment of the officers community. Terming the officers as backbone of the university, he said the management is keen to solve long awaited issues of officers. Hailing the competency and working nature of the officers, Dr. N.B. Jumani thanked all the officers for their untiring efforts for the progress of university. He reiterated his resolve that talented and competent officials shall be provided ample opportunities to shine. He urged that all the communities at the univeristy must be united and focused on joint goals.

On the occasion, President OWA, Syed Asif Kamal presented details of the initiatives taken by OWA body and shared the vision regarding the future tasks. He also thanked management for supporting the officers community in various issues and hoped that the pending issues shall also be solved soon.

General Secretary OWA, Syed Naveed Ehtisham also spoke on the occasion and presented agenda items and resolutions. He also presented a detailed performance report of the tenure of the outgoing OWA. He also congratulated a large number of promoted officers and also wished luck to the retiring officers for their future life.

At the end of the ceremony, the Chief Guest distributed Umrah tickets, shields and gifts to the retiring officers were, while souvenirs to the promoted officers were also given. Later, a luncheon was also hosted by outgoing OWA in honour of OWA members.
