
An orientation session for newly admitted students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology was held at the Auditorium of Faculty Block-II, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
The session began with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem. Director Students Affairs (Male), Dr. Ghufran, welcomed the students and briefed them on academic and administrative matters. He encouraged them to treat their time at IIUI as a turning point to achieve academic, personal, and career goals. He also highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities, teamwork, and maintaining ethical values during their academic journey.
Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering, Engr. Dr. Abid Ali Shah; Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Engr. Dr. Rafiullah Khan; and In-charge ILO, Engr. Shahid Ikram, also addressed the students. They shared insights about their respective departments and urged students to uphold high standards through dedication and academic performance.
Engr. Dr. Rashid Farooq, Associate Professor, spoke on the scope of civil engineering in current contexts, while Engr. Dr. Muhammad Noman served as stage secretary, engaging students with guidance throughout the session.
Dean of the Faculty, Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir, delivered the concluding address. He assured the availability of advanced labs, qualified faculty, and continuous support for students to excel. The event ended with a group photo of the freshmen with faculty members and officials of the Directorate of Students Affairs (Male).
