The 2nd meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR-2025) was held at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) on Thursday in the Council Hall of the Administration Block, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President IIUI.
President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, emphasized the need for a proactive approach to achieving advancements in research parameters. He issued significant instructions regarding the promotion of high-quality research and the strengthening of quality assurance mechanisms. The President stressed that research initiatives must align with international standards and contribute to societal and academic excellence. He also underscored the importance of enhancing research impact through interdisciplinary collaboration, rigorous peer review processes, and adherence to ethical research practices.
During the meeting, the board reviewed proposals and shared constructive suggestions with the President. The discussion covered various academic and research matters pertaining to the Faculty of Usuluddin, Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Shariah & Law, Faculty of Sciences, and Faculty of Languages and Literature.
The meeting was attended by the Director Generals, Deans of the faculties, Director QAD, Director ORIC, Secretary of the BASR, and other relevant officials of the university. The attendees expressed their commitment to implementing the President’s directives and ensuring the continuous improvement of research standards at IIUI.
