His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Bin Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, led a delegation to the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) to promote educational collaboration between the two nations. The visit featured a seminar organized by IIUI’s Directorate of Student Affairs (Male), which focused on enhancing diplomatic relations and academic cooperation.
The seminar commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthems of Pakistan and Malaysia. Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar delivered the keynote address, highlighting the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Malaysia. He emphasized the opportunities available to Pakistani students through Malaysian scholarship programs, encouraging increased academic exchange. “Strengthening educational links between our countries is vital for nurturing future leaders and fostering mutual understanding,” said the Ambassador. The event also featured a welcome note by Deputy Student Advisor Dr. Masood Ur Rehman Khattak and a vote of thanks from Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Hafiz Ghufran Ahmad.
Prior to the seminar, Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar held a meeting with the President of IIUI to discuss a potential Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIUI and Malaysian universities. The proposed agreement aims to facilitate student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and broader academic partnerships. The Ambassador stressed that this collaboration would open new avenues for students and researchers in both countries.
Iln recognition of the successful event, Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar expressed his appreciation to Dr. Ghufran for organizing the seminar and meeting. As a gesture of goodwill, traditional Malaysian food boxes were distributed to the seminar participants, symbolizing the warm ties between Pakistan and Malaysia.
