KSA TO CONTINUE COOPERATION WITH IIUI , SAYS SAUDI AMBASSADOR

Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malki has said the cooperation between Pakistani and Saudi Arabian universities would continue, bright students of IIUI will be sent to the KSA universities on scholarships, Pakistan and KSA are time tested friends.

He was speaking here at new campus of the university in a program of celebrations held on 15 years of collaboration between IIUI and Higher Education Commission (HEC).

He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a strong and exemplary mutual relations, while both sides equally share joys and sorrows. He continued that between people of both states it is a heart to heart relationship. He vowed that KSA would continue cooperation with IIUI as it is nurturing young mind integrated with teachings of Islam.  He added that Pakistan is proud of Muslim Ummah which emerged with an objective of Islam.

The event was also addressed by Dr. Mukhatr Ahmed and stressed that universities would have to play role in the society and HEC is keen to provide a linkage to varsities and the society. He told that since 2002, the commission has raised the number of universities from 58 to 188. On the occasion, he also condemned the elements who were busy in negative propaganda against the universities. He appreciated the strategic plan presented by the Rector of the university and hoped it would achieve  its goals well in time.

Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector IIUI, on the occasion presented a strategic plan and shared goals of university till 2025. He also hailed HEC chairman’s efforts that he successfully raised the universities budget from 40 billion to 96 billion. He reiterated his resolve that IIUI would keep providing top minds to the Muslim societies and it will keep disseminating message of peace and moderation of Islam.

In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President IIUI told that university was having number of linkages and was keen for bilateral cooperation across the world. He said that university is providing best facilities to its students in a peaceful milieu. He continued that IIUI is focusing on promotion of culture of research.

On the occasion, an exhibition of art works and innovative projects of the university was also held which was visited by the distinguished guests.

Later, a cake cutting ceremony was also held at Islamic Research Institute (IRI) of the university in connection with Saudi national day. The ambassador, IIUI Rector, President IIUI and IRI, DG Dr. Muhammad Zia ul haq were present in the ceremony.
