KEUNG-CHUL JEONG DONATES BOOKS TO IIUI, CALLS ON VARSITY PRESIDENT

Dr. Keung-Chul Jeong, Professor of World Religions at Hapdong Theological Seminary, Suwon, South Korea called on the President Dr. Ahmad Yousuf al-Dariweesh at his office.

As per given details by Faculty of Usuluddin, as a result of long standing academic cooperation, Dr. Jeong has presented to IIUI a big lot of academic books related to comparative religion, amounting several millions.

During the meeting, Dr. Jeong also expressed his idea of having a MoU between IIUI and the University of Seoul, Korea. The President welcomed the idea and it was decided that details of the MoU would be worked out soon in order to further strengthen academic cooperation between the two institutions.

Meeting was also attended by Dean Faculty of Usuluddin, Professor Dr. Haroon al-Rashid, Chairman Department of Comparative Religion Dr. Qaisar Shahzad and Dr. Muhammad Akram, Assistant Professor, Department of Comparative Religion.

President, IIUI was briefed by the Dean Faculty of Usuluddin about the academic connections of Dr. Jeong with the University through the Department of Comparative Religion. The President welcomed the guest and thanked him for arranging generous donation of books. He presented his own books and IIUI shield to Dr. Jeong as a token of appreciation for his donation.

Dr. Jeong requested permission to get the books of President IIUI translated into Korean language upon which Dr. Al-Draiweesh granted the permission and said any step for dissemination of peace and Islam’s true message must be encouraged.
