Kazakh Ambassador Calls on IIUI President, Discusses Educational Cooperation

Ambassador of Republic of Kazakhstan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, called on the President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed at his office in the New Campus to discuss prospects for enhanced collaboration in education.

The meeting was also attended by Director General of the Islamic Research Institute (IRI), Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.

During the discussion, the Kazakh envoy emphasized the need to expand academic ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, expressing keen interest in strengthening cooperation through online courses, hybrid programs, and student and faculty exchange initiatives. He assured full support for these endeavors and shared his vision for reinforcing partnerships between educational institutions in both countries.

The ambassador praised IIUI’s international reputation and conveyed Kazakhstan’s willingness to send students for higher studies in various disciplines offered at the university.

It was agreed that a roadmap would be devised for collaboration between IIUI and universities in Kazakhstan.

The president of IIUI highlighted the longstanding cooperation between the Islamic Research Institute and Kazakh institutions, particularly in promoting peace and harmony. He stressed the importance of furthering research activities, academic conferences, and outreach initiatives, particularly in science and technology. He also noted that IIUI is actively engaging with top higher education forums to strengthen academic linkages.

Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq discussed future Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and potential areas of cooperation, particularly in light of the anticipated visit of the President of Kazakhstan. The meeting also included discussions on participation in an upcoming summit, further cementing bilateral academic collaboration.
