Islamic Relief Pakistan Approves Funding for IIUI Student Research Projects

A delegation from Islamic Relief Pakistan visited the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) to explore collaboration in academic and humanitarian sectors. The delegation included Mr. Asim Saqlain (Project Coordinator), Ms. Fozia Noren (MEAL Officer), and Ms. Sanam Bibi (Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Officer).

During the visit, Islamic Relief Pakistan approved funding for four out of nine research proposals submitted by IIUI students. Each selected project will receive Rs. 100,000 under the Foundation’s initiative to support student-led research aligned with its thematic focus areas, including social cohesion, gender studies, and community resilience.

The research proposals were evaluated based on their relevance, potential societal impact, and alignment with Islamic Relief’s objectives. The funding aims to encourage academic inquiry that informs social policy and contributes to sustainable development.

Ms. Nuzhat Zareen, Director (UAFA), and Dr. Mazhar Iqbal Bhatti, Incharge of the Psychology Department (Male Campus), thanked Islamic Relief Pakistan for the support. They reiterated IIUI’s commitment to fostering research partnerships that address key social challenges.

This collaboration signifies a step forward in strengthening ties between academia and humanitarian organizations to promote evidence-based solutions.
