Islamic Research Institute (IRI), International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized one day workshop on “OJS for Online Editorial Process.
Islamic Research Institute organized a one-day workshop on “OJS for Online Editorial Process” to train editorial staff members of IRI journals including editors, assistant editors, composers and proofreaders.
Prof.Dr Muhammad Zia Ul Haq, Director General IRI in his inaugural comments said that adoption of the latest technology in publishing has changed the whole process of scholarly communication. The use and implementation of an open journal system (OJS) for the editorial process will boost up the standard of our journals. He encouraged the participants to learn the whole editorial process in an online environment using OJS. Director-General IRI also announced that Dr. Muhammad Hamidullah Library, Islamic Research Institute will launch various online training workshops for academic community of the country soon.
Prof.Dr Muhammad Zia Ul Haq Editor IRI, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Munir Deputy Editor of Islamic Studies and Dr Muhammad Sajid Mirza, were the resource person on this occasion. They described different processes and functions of the OJS with respect to submission, review, copyediting, and production of research articles.
All participants actively engaged themselves in this training session and practically went through all processes of OJS from submission and review of the article to it copyediting and production.
