IRD PUBLISHES TWO NEW BOOKS

Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has published two new books titled “Siyasi Islam”  and “Hijacked Mind, Benign Rage and Malignant Violence of Humanoid.

The book  “Siyasi Islam” is authored by scholar and public intellectual Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem. He critically evaluates the conceptual and historical roots of Islamism as a project and condition that shaped and reshaped Muslim minds in our times both in the scholarly and political arena. The work is the product of a scholar who spent almost 35 years of his life in understanding and making sense of the concept of political Islam, its religious and historical roots, its deep seated impact on our social fabric, and it’s extremely lethal and violent permutations in some instances. The book is out and available at the IRD and all major book stores in Islamabad.

The second publication is a scholarly work of Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily who is a clinical psychologist and Vice President, Academics at IIUI. The book  titled “Hijacked Mind, Benign Rage and Malignant Violence of Humanoid” outlines the social and psychological impact of organized violence not only in the context of psychopathology but also focusing on the characteristics of its treatment aspect pertaining to the Pakistani Society.
