The Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) organized an academic lecture titled “علامہ اقبال کی نظر میں علم کی اہمیت” at Madrassa Muhammadi Masjid, Shehzad Town, Islamabad.
Mr. Nasir Farid, Additional Director, IRD, formally introduced the Institute and briefed the participants on the objectives and mandate of IRD. He highlighted the Institute’s academic, research, and peace-building initiatives and emphasized the contemporary educational and moral relevance of the lecture’s theme. He further stated that, in line with the vision of the President, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), IRD aims to reach out to madrassa students and convey the message of Allama Iqbal to them. He noted that while such lectures have previously been organized at universities, this was the first lecture held at a madrassa, marking an important milestone in IRD’s outreach efforts.
Mr. Maulana Abdul Quddus Muhammadi, Executive Director, Madrassa Muhammadi Masjid, Shehzad Town, and Spokesperson, Wifaq ul Madaris Pakistan, expressed his gratitude to IRD for organizing the lecture at their institution. He highly appreciated IRD’s continued efforts in promoting peace, intellectual engagement, and youth development through scholarly and academic discourse.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Talib Hussain Sial, a renowned scholar, who presented a comprehensive and thought-provoking analysis of Allama Iqbal’s perspective on the importance of knowledge. His lecture was specifically tailored for madrassa students and youth, emphasizing intellectual awakening, moral responsibility, and the transformative role of knowledge in individual and collective progress.
The session concluded with active participation and keen interest from students, reflecting the success, relevance, and positive impact of the lecture.
