INT’L CONFERENCE ON PROTECTION OF HUMAN LIFE IN SHARIAH & LAW CONCLUDES AT IIUI

International conference on the topic of “Protection of Human Life in Shariah and Law” concluded at the Faisal Masjid Campus of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) with the special message of Imam e Kaaba/ Advisor at Saudi Royal Courts of Saudi Arabia/ President of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy in Jeddah, H.E. Professor Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid.

In his special message for the concluding ceremony of the conference, Imam e Kaaba, H.E. Professor Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid said that he was thankful for the memorable hospitality and welcome by the university. He said that he specially came to attend the conference that was held on one of the important topics of hour. Talking about the IIUI role in society, he said that IIUI is worldly known for its services to Muslim world. He appreciated the vision of IIUI leadership and hoped that IIUI and Islamic Fiqh Academy Jeddah by, further enhancing the bilateral ties, will hold more such activities in future.

He said he had opportunity to share his thoughts with the scholars in the conference as well as this visit gave opportunity to meet the President of Pakistan and other renowned personalities. He said in all the meetings he found that Pakistan and Saudi Arab have similarities of objective and vision. He hoped that the conference will help in bringing important initiatives related to the topic in the form of recommendations.

The conference organizers and participants expressed their profound gratitude to both the government of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their unwavering support to the university, as well as for their cooperation in organising the conference. The participants suggested that the Muslim community should be educated through contemporary media about the needs to prevent harmful social practices that endanger human life. The scholars of the conference stressed upon the global community to save the lives of innocent Palestinians. The conference also issued a warning against issuing fatwas about the general ban on taking serums, vaccinations, or medications without sufficient knowledge or accurate information.

In her address as a chief guest, Rector IIUI, Dr. Samina Malik thanked Prof. Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Humaid, Imam-ul-Haram for his special visit to IIUI for the conference. “The divine principle of being held accountable for the use of the precious gift of life, resonates profoundly with the mission of the International Islamic University” she said. Dr. Samina Malik said that I am hopeful that the participation of more than 10 speakers from different nationalities including Egypt, UAE, Malaysia, Jordan, Morocco, Bosnia and USA and more than 100 guest speakers from Pakistan enriched different themes of the conference with their valuable insights and expertise.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President Research and Enterprise, shed light on the history and importance of the topic of protection of human life. He said that need of this topic even after centuries remains same as Islam has given a special place to protection of Human life. He hoped that the research and views of the conference will help in application of best policies to save human lives in the world.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, Director Academics, in his address on the occasion congratulated the organizers on successfully holding the conference. He said that the conference has invited us to feel the pain of our brothers and sisters in Gaza and it also gave us an opportunity to disseminate Islam’s message of peace.

Dean, Faculty of Shariah and Law, IIUI, Dr. Atta ullah Faizi thanked Imam e Kaaba and university management. He also presented the conference recommendations. He said it was an honour to host Imam e Kaaba who specially visited IIUI for or participation in this conference. At the end, shields were presented to the Rector IIUI, national and international speakers and organizers of the conference.
