International Islamic University Islamabad Hosts Workshops on Research Ethics and Publishing
The Department of English, Faculty of Languages & Literature (FLL), at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), successfully conducted two back-to-back online workshops titled “Foundations of Research: Ethics and Publishing.” The sessions aimed to enhance the capabilities of MS and PhD supervisors in ethical research and effective academic publishing.
Led by Dr. Sajid Ali Yousuf Zai, a distinguished faculty development trainer at the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC), the workshops addressed critical aspects of contemporary research. Dr. Muhammad Sheeraz, In-Charge of the Department of English, opened the event by welcoming the speaker and outlining the workshops’ goals. The first session focused on the importance of research ethics and discussed the responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic settings. The second session covered practical strategies for publishing in reputable international journals and provided an overview of the latest HEC policies on research publication.
Dr. Sajid Ali Yousuf Zai emphasized the growing responsibilities of academic supervisors, stating, “Upholding ethical standards and understanding publishing protocols are crucial for maintaining the integrity and global recognition of our research.” The workshops concluded with expressions of gratitude from Dr. Saiyma Aslam, Chairperson of the Department of English, and Prof. Dr. Fauzia Janjua, Dean of FLL, who praised Dr. Yousuf Zai’s insightful guidance and acknowledged the active engagement of faculty members.
