INNO-VENT 2025 Promotes Research Commercialization at IIUI

The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) hosted INNO-VENT 2025, an event aimed at linking academic research with market-driven innovation.

Organized by the Faculty of Science in collaboration with the Business Incubation Centre (BIC), Science, Technology and Business Space (STBS), and the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), the event highlighted efforts to promote a research-based economy.

INNO-VENT 2025 included parallel competitions for male and female students at STBS and the Department of Biological Sciences (Female Campus), respectively. A separate category was dedicated to faculty-led business innovations at the BIC, encouraging wide participation and showcasing diverse ideas.

A key development during the event was the signing of three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between IIUI and industry partners — Sukoon Wellness Pvt. Ltd., Shaheen Enterprises, and Welwrd Pharmaceuticals. The agreements were signed by Dr. Ahmed Shuja, Vice President (Research & Enterprise), to strengthen research-industry collaboration.

Dr. Bashir Ahmad, Head of the Industrial Linkages and Commercialization Working Group, noted that the event served as a platform to align academic output with market needs.

The closing ceremony, held at the Fatima Block Auditorium, Female Campus, featured Professor Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah as chief guest. He addressed students on the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship and distributed shields and certificates to participants and winners.

INNO-VENT 2025 reinforced IIUI’s commitment to supporting research with practical impact, advancing its role in national development through innovation and enterprise.
