INDONESIA’S  AL AZHAR UNIVERSITY & IIUI TO ENHANCE COOPERATION

A delegation from Al Azhar University, Indonesia headed by former Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Azerbaijan Prof. Dr. Husnan Bey Fananie, MA, presently serving as Lecturer of The Islamic Education Department University Al Azhar, (UAI), Jakarta, Indonesia, visited International Islamic University Islamabad and called on H.E. Dr. Hathal bin Hamoud Al-Otaibi, President, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
IIUI President welcomed the delegation, introduced the university and apprised about its future vision, expertise and achievements. President IIU appreciated the delegates, keen for future cooperation for bringing more innovative and constructive projects by both institutions. He also reiterated his resolve that IIUI will keep its doors open to serve Muslim world through extended mutual cooperation.
During the meeting matters pertaining to mutual interest were discussed. on this occasion Prof. Dr. Husnan briefed that they intend to explore the possibility of educational cooperation between International Islamic University Islamabad and Al Azhar University in Jakarta, Indonesia and also intend to deliver a lecture to students on “Asian Civilization”. Dr. Husnan also briefed about the proposed meeting of the Advisor to the Minister of National Development Planning in Indonesia for holding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIUI and Al Azhar University Indonesia.
Later, Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President (Academics), IIUI along with Deans of the faculties briefed about the different programs of the university and exchanged ideas for future collaborations.
On the occasion Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khan, Director (academics & Examinations), IIUI ensured to support the enrolled Indonesian students’ at campus with respect to their matters regarding academics and facilitation to foreign students at campus.
