The Student Development and Placement Cell (SDPC) of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held a workshop on “Personal Development, CV Writing & Preparing for Job Interviews” at the Faculty Block Auditorium, Male Campus, IIUI.

The event followed a similar session held at the Female Campus marks the beginning of a series of career-focused workshops aimed at enhancing students’ soft skills and job readiness.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, Vice President (Administration & Finance) / Academics, was the Chief Guest, while Mr. Arshad Mahmood Akif, CEO of ASK Development, attended as Guest of Honor.

Dr. Muhammad Arif, Project Lead, welcomed the guests and outlined the SDPC’s mission under a two-year project (2025–2027) approved by the President IIUI and funded by the Student Advancement Fund Endowment (SAFE). The project targets skill development, industry-academia linkage, and career support for students, particularly in their final year.

The male campus workshop received 161 registrations, but attendance was limited to 83 students due to the current national situation following recent cross-border tensions.

Dr. Abdul Raheman stressed the importance of aligning academic programs with market demands and integrating practical skills into education. Mr. Arshad Akif emphasized collaboration between HR and business sectors and urged students to benefit from such engagements.

A pre-recorded message from Malik Khizer Hayat, Chief Data Officer at Dakota, USA, shared global insights on leadership and data-driven industries.

Key sessions included a CV writing workshop by Mr. Aamir Jahangir, a leadership and communication expert; a personal development session by Dr. Muhammad Arif; and a talk on capacity building by Ms. Nuzhat Zareen, Director (UAFA), IIUI, who also encouraged contributions to SAFE’s “Donate for Education” campaign.
