IIUI’s Institute of Professional Development Holds Training on Effective Teaching Methodologies

The Institute of Professional Development (IPD) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a professional training session titled “Effective Teaching Methodologies” at the Faisal Mosque Campus. The workshop brought together around 90 education professionals, including principals, coordinators, and teachers from IIUI Schools, universities, and private institutions across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other regions.

 

The session began with opening remarks by Dr. Fouzia Ajmal, Consultant IPD, who outlined the objectives of the program and emphasized IPD’s focus on improving teaching and learning through research-based approaches.

 

The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Syed Athar Masood, Professor and Incharge Academics, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, IIUI. He discussed student-centered instructional strategies such as problem-based and collaborative learning, reflective teaching, and the effective use of technology for classroom engagement. He underscored the need for shifting from conventional teacher-led instruction to learner-centered methods that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world application of knowledge.

Director IPD, IIUI Schools, Prof. Dr. Nadeem Sheikh, appreciated the participation of teachers and the contribution of the resource person. He said that empowering educators with innovative and reflective teaching practices is key to improving learning outcomes and ensuring quality education.

 

The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants commended IPD’s continued efforts in enhancing teachers’ professional capabilities. The Institute reaffirmed its commitment to organizing similar training initiatives aimed at strengthening pedagogical skills and fostering innovation in teaching.
