The Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club (Male), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), actively participated in the 28th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC) held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad. The event was organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) with the technical and financial support of the Embassy of Denmark in Islamabad.
The Sustainable Development Conference, a flagship annual initiative of SDPI for over 25 years, serves as a platform for promoting evidence-based policy dialogue, capacity building, and collaborative efforts toward a sustainable future. The 28th edition continued this tradition, focusing on the theme “Sustainable Development in a Rapidly Changing Dynamic Environment.”

The conference brought together national and international policymakers, researchers, development partners, civil society representatives, and academics for meaningful discussions on sustainable development challenges and opportunities.
Cabinet members and general members of the GYM Club (M) IIUI, led by Focal Person Dr. H. Ghufran Ahmad, participated in various sessions and established linkages with representatives of business and social organizations attending the event.
Dr. Ghufran Ahmad, who also serves as the Director Student Affairs (Male), appreciated the proactive participation of IIUI students and visited their stall at the conference. He commended their contribution in projecting a positive image of the university through their engagement and representation.

Students from IIUI’s Environmental Science Department also developed connections with several participating organizations, including Attock Refinery Limited, NCPC, Nestlé, and other entities from the private and development sectors, enhancing IIUI’s collaborative outreach in sustainability and environmental initiatives.
