IIUI’s 4th BASR (2025) Meeting Focuses on Research Excellence

The Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) convened under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President of IIUI. Emphasizing the university’s commitment to academic excellence, Dr. Shuja underscored the importance of rigorous research and quality assurance in postgraduate studies.

 

The meeting, held in the Seminar Room of the Jabir Bin Hayan Block (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology), was attended by BASR members, including internal faculty representatives. Also present were Dr. Suheel Abdullah, Secretary BASR and Director of the Directorate of Graduate Studies (DGS).

 

During the session, the board meticulously reviewed and evaluated 24 PhD synopses from multiple faculties, including the Faculty of Shariah & Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Languages & Literature, Faculty of Management Sciences and Faculty of Engineering and Technology. After thorough deliberations, necessary recommendations and instructions were issued to uphold high research standards and academic integrity.

 

The meeting concluded with key directives aimed at improving research proposals and streamlining the evaluation process to further enhance the quality of postgraduate research at IIUI.
