International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) President, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh Monday was welcomed by the academic staff, administrative officers and employees of the university on his arrival at the new campus after his appointment as IIUI President for further 4 years.
Earlier, IIUI Board of Trustees in its 13th meeting at Aiwan e Sadar, unanimously, appointed Dr. Al-Draiweesh as varsity President for the period of 4 years. He was presented flower bouquets as he approached his office this morning.
Later, Dr. Al-Draiweesh addressed the teaching fraternity in the council hall who called on him headed by Dean Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Dr. Arshad Zia.
Dr Al- Draiweesh thanked the President of Pakistan, H.E. Mamnoon H
ussain, IIUI Pro Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sulieman Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, IIUI Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, all members of board for his appointment as President and showing satisfaction over his previous efforts. He also thanked IIUI academic and administrative fraternity for unprecedented support.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh said that he would try his best to come up to the expectation of the all the members of board and IIUI population. He added that it was a new start of the journey of progress and now the university will head towards the paths of achievements.
Teaching community, in the meeting at council hall, welcomed Dr. Al-Draiweesh’s appointment and considered it a good sign for the university. They hoped that his arrival will usher the Islamic University in a new era.
