IIUI Travel Grant Committee Reviews and Approves Proposals for Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops

The Travel Grant (TG), Conferences/Seminars and Workshops (CSW) Committee at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held a productive meeting on Monday, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research and Enterprise). The primary agenda involved the thorough review and subsequent approval of various proposals for workshops, seminars, and conferences. These proposals were submitted by key faculties, including the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the Faculty of Social Sciences, CIRBS, the Islamic Research Institute, and the Sharia Academy, demonstrating a collaborative effort to advance academic and research endeavors across disciplines.

During the session, Prof. Dr. Syed reiterated IIUI’s commitment to bolstering research and academic activities. He highlighted their crucial role in cultivating a robust research culture, facilitating capacity building among faculty and students, and elevating the university’s reputation on both national and international stages. This emphasis aligns with broader institutional goals, as seen in IIUI’s strategic initiatives to integrate research with enterprise under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Syed.

The meeting saw active participation from a diverse group of university officials. Notable attendees included Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and Director of the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Prof. Dr. Fazlullah, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic, and other relevant stakeholders. They contributed to in-depth discussions focusing on strategies to create a vibrant and supportive environment for academic and research growth.
