International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) will plant around 10 thousand sapling at its new campus under IIUI landscape program.
A detailed presentation and a briefing was given by Dr. Muhammad Ibrar Shinwari, Assistant Professor to President IIUI, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh.
The briefing was also attended by the academics staff of the department and other relevant officials.
During the briefing it was told that a Bio Diversity Conservation Centre will be established at IIUI and the IIUI landscape project will properly be inaugurated on April 26th. The university is also mulling over establishing a sacred orchard in which all the plants which have been mentioned in the Holy Quran will be planted.
Under the university Bio Diversity and its Landscaping Project, university’s linkage to the industry would be initiated such as the plants used for medicine will be utilized by the pharmaceuticals industry through cooperation with IIUI.
The President IIUI lauded the project and directed to expedite efforts in this regard. He said that teachers and departments who have vowed to donate plants have taken a great initiative of university and Muslim Ummah’s service.
