The Department of Translation & Interpretation (T&I), Faculty of Arabic, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized a seminar on “Multilingualism and Cross-Cultural Understanding: Possibilities of Cooperation between Pakistani-German Universities” at Lincoln Corner, Central Library (IIUI). The seminar was jointly organized by the Department of Translation & Interpretation, IIUI, DAAD (The German Academic Exchange Service in Pakistan) and Cultural Section at the German Embassy, Islamabad.
Professor Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President (IIUI) was the Chief Guest of the ceremony while, speakers of the seminar included Mrs. Inga Iqbal, Director of DAAD, Islamabad, Mr. Javed Hafiz, Ex-Ambassador of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia, Dean Faculty of Arabic, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Bashir and Dr. Inam ul Haq Ghazi, Chairman T&I Department.
Faculty Members and a large number of students attended the seminar. Memorial shields were also presented to the honorable guests. Result of the recently-held translation contest was also announced on this occasion and shields were also given to the winners of this contest. Ms. Museera Imran, Ms. Hamna Sohail and Ms. Tahira Bibi obtained first, second and third positions respectively.
