IIUI: SOMALIAN STUDENTS’ CALL ON VICE PRESIDENT (ACADEMICS)

A 70 member delegation of Somalian Students studying in various departments of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), called on Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily, Vice President (Academics) in the Council Hall, Administration Block, New Campus of the University on Tuesday.

High Commissioner of Somalian Embassy in Pakistan was also present on the occasion. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily elaborated the role of Overseas Section for facilitation to the foreign students and advised the students to cooperate with the Administration regarding provision of their documents which are necessary for their extensions in visas through Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan. He advised students that during official hours they can take guidelines from the Overseas Section and in case of any issue students can approach him at his Office.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to admission procedures and issues involve in/after joining of the students were discussed in detail. Somalian High Commissioner and students appreciated this meeting and assured that this briefing session would definitely help them in admission, joining and post joining activities

Dr. Tahir said that Somalian Students are huge asset for both Pakistan and Somalia and we are trying our best to provide them better facilities at the Campus, however in case of any legal issue students must take assistance from the Overseas Section immediately to avoid any inconvenience.

High Commissioner of Somalian Embassy thanked Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily, Vice President (AF&P), IIUI for providing guidelines to the Somalian Students and appreciated the University for providing quality education to the students of Muslim world. He hoped that Somalian Students Studying in the Campus will also fully cooperate with the Administration of the University.   He said that university produced mention-able graduates who are on the key posts in Somalia and they are also the ambassadors of IIUI’s message of peace across the boarders.

Earlier, Mr. Atiq Ur Rehman Chughtai, Additional Director (Overseas) briefed the students with respect to their admissions and allied academic matters, Somalian Students also shared their views with the Vice President (Academics) on this occasion.

Mr. Maher, a Somalian students raised certain points and invited the attention of the Worthy Vice President (Academics) towards them. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily while taking these questions on board directed the officers/officials of the Overseas Admission Section present in the meeting on spot for their resolution. However, on two points, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily said, the Embassy may refer the matters to him with evidence and he will process the same to the competent authority for consideration.
