IIUI PROMOTES SUSTAINABILITY WITH 500 SAPLINGS FROM ALLIED BANK

In a significant step towards environmental sustainability, the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has received 500 saplings from Allied Bank as part of a green initiative to combat climate change and enhance the campus’s green spaces.
Officials from Allied Bank formally handed over seven types of saplings to the university’s Horticulture Department. To mark the occasion, the Director of the Business Incubation Centre, Muhammad Ahsan Mirza, along with an Allied Bank representative, planted a sapling within the Business Incubation Centre premises.
Speaking on the initiative, Mirza emphasized the university’s commitment to environmental responsibility. “Our environmental commitment is deeply rooted in the belief that every small step counts in the fight against climate change. By receiving these 500 plants, we hope to inspire the IIUI community to embrace sustainable practices and contribute to a healthier planet,” he said.
The event was attended by key university officials, including Prof. Dr. Amna Mahmood, In-Charge (Female Campus), Director UAFA Ms. Nuzat Zareen, Incharge Finance Noor Hussain, Additional Director Finance Ayaz Ali, and Allied Bank officers.
The initiative aligns with IIUI’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and foster an eco-friendly learning environment.
With climate change posing an increasing threat, the university’s commitment to expanding green spaces stands as a proactive step toward a more sustainable future. The addition of these plants will not only beautify the campus but also contribute to improved air quality and ecological balance.
