IIUI PRO CHANCELLOR INAUGURATES DARUL MUNEERA, CAFETERIA AT FEMALE CAMPUS

Prof. Dr. Sulaiman Abdullah Aba Alkhail said on Sunday that educational cooperation between Pakistani and Saudi Arabian universities was vital and IIUI being the sister university of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University Riyadh was a vital institution which will be provided maximum cooperation in terms of academic excellence, infrastructure and joint ventures.

He was addressing here at female campus of the university after inaugurating Darul Muneera ( a centre dedicated to promote teachings of Quran and memorization of Holy book) and a cafeteria for female students.

The event was also attended by Hamoud Bin Abdullah Aldeeb, a renowned philanthropist who has endowed centre for promotion and teaching of Quran. It was also attended by the Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, delegates of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Riyadh, Rector IIUI, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, President IIUI, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, Vice Presidents of IIUI, Deans, Director Female Campus, other Directors and relevant officials.

The IIUI Pro Chancellor and Rector of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Riyadh said that the ones who have read the teachings of Quran and have been practicing those would never be touched by the menace of terrorism and valance. He emphasized that youth of Muslim world should be nurtured as per teachings of Quran and they should not be dissociated to true message of Islam which he said was peace.

He said that his university would be extending maximum cooperation for expanding this endowment and also hailed Dr. Aldeeb for his generous deed.

He directed the varsity planning department’s officials to submit a practical plan to expand the female cafeteria and said that it will be doubled after bilateral exchange of plans between IIUI officials and officials of Imam Muhammad Ibn Sau Islamic University, Riyadh.

He told that Custodian of the Holy Mosques and educational institutions of KSA are keen to cooperate with Pakistani universities and IIUI will also be provided support to open a separate library for female students. He continued that his university will offer joint further ventures to IIUI in the fields of technology and distance learning education. He added that as many as 1.5 million students in KSA were benefiting from distance learning programs of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University.

Talking about Pak-Saudi ties, Dr. Suliman said that there was no example of this long lasting friendship between both countries. He furthered that King of the KSA has always desired to make the Pak-Saudi bond of friendship stronger than before and IIUI and KSA’s relation were an omen of his desire. He said that all the projects directed and proposed by him will be implemented as soon as possible and practical steps will be taken for positive steps to further improve the educational standards.

In his speech on the occasion, IIUI Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai said that IIUI was proud of having leadership of Dr. Suliman Aba Al Khail who was one of the most visionary personalities of Muslim world. He also hailed Mr. Al Deeb for his endowment of Darul Muneera and termed his deed as a virtue which had no alternate. He thanked Dr. Sulaiman for his continued support and said that his presence at the campus with a vision to make IIUI a leading hub of learning was an omen of his keen interest in the university. The IIUI Rector also thanked Custodian of Two Holy Mosques for his love for Pakistan and honouring IIUI for having leadership of Dr. Sulaiman. He said universities were significant places who could help the Muslim societies to deal with contemporary challenges.

Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweeh thanked Custodian of Two Holy Mosques and Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail for continues support of IIUI. He said that university was heading towards a right direction under the leadership of a prudent Pro Chancellor as he had always desired to make IIUI advanced in academic excellence and urged to have linkages with universities across the world. Dr. Al-Draiweesh said that Mehmoud Al-deeb has won the hearts of IIUI and Pakistanis as he endowed a precious centre for teaching and promotion of Quran. The IIUI President apprised the varsity Pro Chancellor that university had been playing a pivotal role in promotion of Islamic values and spreading the Islam’s message of peace and peaceful co-existence. He said that violence and terrorism had nothing to do with Islam and university through its faculties and constituent units was preaching this message by holding international and national moots, seminars and dialogues.

Dr. Samina Malik, Director female campus also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Pro Chancellor and his delegation for visiting the campus and inaugurating Darul Muneera and cafeteria.

Later, university leadership hosted a luncheon in honour of IIUI Pro Chancellor and his delegation.
