Dr. Ahmed Yousif A-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Tuesday reiterated his resolve that the university will soon achieve its goal of internationalization through hard work, commitment and dedication of its officials.
He was addressing to all the heads, teachers, officers and staff members of the constituent units at Old campus who warmly welcomed him on his arrival at Faisal Masjid campus after his appointment as IIUI President for further 4 years.
Earlier, IIUI Board of Trustees in its 13th meeting at Aiwan e Sadar, unanimously, appointed Dr. Al-Draiweesh as varsity President for the period of 4 years. He was presented flower bouquets as he approached his office this morning.
Dr Al- Draiweesh thanked the President of Pakistan, H.E. Mamnoon Hussain, IIUI Pro Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sulieman Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, IIUI Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, all members 
of board for his appointment as President and showing satisfaction over his previous efforts. He also thanked IIUI academic and administrative fraternity for unprecedented support.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh said that he would try his best to come up to the expectation of the all the members of board and IIUI population. He added that it was a new start of the journey of progress and now the university will head towards the paths of achievements.
Teaching community and officers have welcomed Dr. Al-Draiweesh’s appointment and considered it a good sign for the university. They hoped that his arrival will usher the Islamic University in a new era.
Earlier, in the morning, at Faculty of Management Sciences, Dr. Al-Draiweesh was warmly welcomed by Vice President, Academics, Dr. Muhammd Bashir Khan, Deputy Dean Dr. Zulfiqar Shah and his faculty team. A cake on this occasion was also cut to celebrate the appointment of Dr. Al-Draiweesh for further 4 years. IIUI President hailed the performance of the faculty and felicitated the management for
accreditation and other developments.
Meanwhile, Allama Tahir Ashrafi also called on President IIUI and felicitated him on his appointment. He also invited him to the International Message of Islam conference at Lahore being organized by Pakistan Ulema Council. IIUI President also thanked him for the courtesy call and accepted the invitation.
