
The President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, emphasized the importance of honesty and truthfulness in translation, stating that “a translator must be honest and truthful in conveying information to other languages, and he will be rewarded by his Lord.”

He expressed these views while addressing an event organized by the Department of Translation and Interpretation (T&I), Faculty of Arabic, to celebrate the International Day of Translation, where he participated as the chief guest. The President further remarked that the Department of T&I would soon witness significant developments in the near future.
The event, jointly moderated by Ms. Maryam Noman and Ms. Nuha Suhaib, began with a recitation by Ms. Ruqayya Noman, followed by a naat by Ms. Hoor. Prof. Dr. Fazlullah, Dean, Faculty of Arabic, welcomed the guests, while Dr. Nargis Nazir presented an introduction to the department.
Speakers Dr. Shair Ali Khan and keynote speaker Dr. Ikram-ul-Haq Yasin discussed the challenges of translation in the age of Artificial Intelligence. Ms. Nada Suhaib highlighted the importance of the field of translation, and Ms. Asia Arif shared her journey of translating and authoring eight books.
The beautifully decorated and well-organized program was held under the supervision of Dr. Nargis Nazir and Dr. Arif Siddiq, with the active support of a student team comprising Sumayya Ghazali, Maryam Noman, Ruqayya Noman, Shahad Muhammad, Wang Li Fan (Lulu), Nuha Suhaib, Nada Suhaib, Widad Saeed, Asia Arif, Aminah Ayub, Adan Saeed, and Khansa Zafar.
