
The VIII Congress of World and Traditional Religions Leaders is being held in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The congress was inaugurated by His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the opening session, the President of Kazakhstan stressed the importance of spiritual diplomacy in addressing global challenges and called on religious leaders to strengthen peace and mutual understanding. It was also proposed to prepare joint documents on climate change and ethical issues in the digital age.

More than 100 delegations from over 60 countries around the world attended the Congress, discussing issues of addressing global threats, instilling humanitarian values, and engaging young people in dialogue. The Congress of World and Traditional Religious Leaders will remain an important platform for strengthening peace and mutual respect at the global level.



Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed is heading the delegation of the International Islamic University, Islamabad. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, DG IRI and Dean, Faculty of Shariah and Law, is accompanying the President of IIUI. IIUI has been a very active member of this forum since its inception in 2003.

Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Government of Pakistan, and Dr. Ragib Hussain Naeemi, Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology, are also representing Pakistan in the Congress.
