IIUI President Inaugurates Sports Equipment Procured Through Special Saudi Support

President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, inaugurated a wide range of sports equipment procured through special support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The sports goods, comprising a comprehensive assortment of indoor and outdoor sports accessories for both male and female students, arrived at the university campus and were formally received by the President. Prof. Dr. Alahmed personally observed the offloading of the equipment and expressed satisfaction over the quality and variety of the items.

The newly acquired sports inventory includes basketballs, badminton rackets and shuttlecocks, footballs, futsal balls, volleyballs, handballs, lawn tennis rackets and nets, squash rackets and balls, javelins, shot puts, discus sets, training bib vests, cricket kits, table tennis tables and balls, chess boards and timers, digital stopwatches, exercise mats, skipping ropes, tug of war ropes, carrom boards, and track suits, among many other items. The equipment has been procured to enhance sports facilities across the university’s male and female campuses.

Speaking on the occasion, the IIUI President appreciated the continued support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stating that the initiative reflects the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that such generous assistance not only strengthens institutional capacity but also promotes healthy activities among students, contributing to their physical well-being and character building.

Prof. Dr. Alahmed emphasized that sports play a vital role in personality development, teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. He remarked that the availability of modern sports facilities will provide students with improved opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities alongside their academic pursuits.

Senior university officials and members of the procurement committee were also present on the occasion. They briefed the President about the transparent procurement process and the distribution plan to ensure that both male and female students benefit equally from the new equipment.

The university administration reiterated its commitment to promoting sports culture on campus and expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its valuable support in strengthening educational and co-curricular infrastructure at IIUI.
