Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) participated in the ‘3rd International Message of Islam Conference’ organized by Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) in Lahore.
He called upon the Muslim world to forge unity among the ranks and disseminate true message of Islam which is peace. He said the conference was organized at important time as Muslim societies were in dire need to address the challenges and convey the world about the actual message and teachings of Islam.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh apprised the audience about the role of IIUI in the field of peace, moderation, tranquility, peaceful co-existence and dialogue. He also appreciated the role of PUC and said that it was a binding force for Muslim world which keeps telling the youth and scholars about the leading challenges and solutions.
Delegates across Muslim world, scholars and representatives of religious organisations from different Muslim countries attended the conference.
According to the organizers ambassadors of Muslim countries, dignitaries and some 5,000 Ulema from all over Pakistan attended the conference to devise a unanimous mechanism against terrorism, extremism, sectarian violence and foreign interference in affairs of Muslim countries.
Ulema on Monday unanimously resolved to oppose any campaign against the state institutions, including judiciary, the armed forces and the parliament. At the ‘3rd International Message of Islam Conference’, held here at Aiwan-e-Iqbal under the aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), the religious leaders also vowed to thwart conspiracies against Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (the Finality of Prophethood), as it was the basis of every Muslim’s faith.
PUC Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi chaired the conference while Al-Sheikh Talal Al-Aqeel, Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs, Saudi Arabia, was the chief guest.
Dignitaries and ambassadors of different Islamic countries, religious scholars, clerics and Mashaykh from all over Muslim world and Pakistan, including Al-Sheikh Dr Rashid Al-Zahrani, Palestine’s Acting Qazi-ul-Qaza Justice Victor Mehmood, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliky, Dr Abida Hussain and Islamic Ideology Council Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz attended the conference.
