IIUI Organizes Kashmir Solidarity Seminar at Female Campus; Mushaal Hussein Mullick Emphasises Peace and Awareness

The Directorate of Student Affairs (Male and Female), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), held a Kashmir Solidarity Day seminar in the Auditorium of Fatima Block at the Female Campus, focusing on the Kashmir issue and educational engagement with global justice concerns.

Honorable Ms Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation, attended the seminar as the Chief Guest. In her address, she outlined the current situation involving Mr Yasin Malik and discussed the broader political and humanitarian conditions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Ms Mullick also shared personal reflections on her initial association with Mr Malik, her first visit to Kashmir after marriage, and her long-standing engagement with the Kashmiri cause and advocacy for nonviolent resolution.

The event began with a welcome note delivered by Dr Ghufran Ahmad, Student Advisor (Male), who underlined the role of academic institutions in fostering informed discussion on regional conflicts, human rights, and peaceful advocacy. He reaffirmed IIUI’s commitment to student engagement with global justice issues.

Following the Chief Guest’s remarks, Professor Dr Fauzia Janjua, Dean, Faculty of Languages and Literature (FLL), addressed the audience. She highlighted the importance of Kashmir Solidarity activities within educational settings and encouraged students to contribute actively to causes of national and humanitarian significance.

Ms Shamim Shawl, Secretary General of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, also delivered a focused address on the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people and the role of women in this movement.

Several female students from different departments presented poems and speeches expressing solidarity with Kashmiris, reflecting a range of emotional and intellectual responses to the issue.

The seminar concluded with a solidarity walk led by Professor Dr Fauzia Janjua and Ms Mushaal Hussein Mullick, symbolizing collective institutional support and reaffirmation of the Kashmir cause.
