IIUI Organizes International Seminar on the Role of Educational Institutions in Preserving Muslim Youth Identity

The Faculty of Shariah and Law at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), in collaboration with the Islamic Research Institute and the Directorate of Student Affairs, organized an international seminar titled “The Role of Educational Institutions in Protecting the Identity of Muslim Youth.” The event was held separately at the Male and Female Campuses of the university.

The seminar featured Dr. Abdullatif Bouazizi, President of the University of Zitouna, Tunisia, as the keynote speaker. He highlighted the critical role of educational institutions in developing the identity and values of Muslim youth, emphasizing that education must focus on moral upbringing alongside academic excellence.

Dr. Bouazizi called for curriculum development that integrates modern technologies while preserving Islamic values. He underlined the role of teachers as role models and stressed the importance of collaboration between families and educational institutions to strengthen youth identity.

At the Female campus, Dr. Amina Mahmood, In-Charge of the Female Campus, welcomed the guest and emphasized the longstanding academic ties between IIUI and the University of Zitouna.

 

The seminar concluded with remarks from Dr. Zia ul Haq, Dean of the Faculty of Shariah and Law and Director General of the Islamic Research Institute, who thanked Dr. Bouazizi for his valuable insights and urged students to actively participate in scholarly initiatives, including the upcoming International Seerah Conference organized by IIUI.
