IIUI OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL DNA DAY

International DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) day was observed at female campus of IIUI. In a ceremony, to mark the day, a special cake was designed on the structure of DNA.

Cake cutting ceremony was held in the Applied Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering lab of the Department of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology of female campus which was chaired by Rector, IIUI, Prof Dr Masoom Yasinzai in the presence of large number of faculty members from male and female campus and students.

Rector, while addressing the faculty and students emphasized on the importance of DNA and shared his valuable thoughts on the topic. He urged the faculty and students to  continue such activities in future.

On the occasion, a large number of models designed by the research students of Applied Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering lab (ABGE) were also displayed. Special videos highlighting the importance of this discovery were also played for the awareness of students throughout the day. Dr Nyla Jabeen, Principal Investigator of Applied Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering lab thanked all the guests and students for active participation.
