Upon directions of the President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), a Students’ Development and Placement Cell has been established under the supervision of the Office of Marketing and Branding, in collaboration with the University Advancement and Financial Aid Office.
The initiative addresses challenges faced by students in bachelor’s programs, including academic progression, career prospects, and market alignment. The establishment of this cell is aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and professional requirements, equipping students with necessary skills and opportunities for employment.
The Office of Marketing and Branding, in coordination with the University Advancement and Financial Aid (UAFA), has outlined two primary objectives for the cell. The first is the organization of workshops to provide students with essential life skills, enhance their ability to navigate academic and professional environments, and support their overall development. The second objective is to actively engage with employers to facilitate employment opportunities. The cell will primarily assist students in the final stages of their undergraduate programs.
The project has been allocated Rs. 7 million by the Student Advancement Fund Endowment Committee in its last meeting held on February 18, 2025. The initiative will span two years and is structured to deliver multiple benefits, including professional guidance, assistance in resume development, and interview preparation. Trainers will conduct sessions on communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, teamwork, and leadership. Additionally, in-house job fairs will be organized to strengthen student-employer connections and increase job placement opportunities.
The project reflects a structured approach to student development, integrating academic growth with professional preparedness. It aligns institutional efforts with employment sector requirements, positioning students for enhanced career prospects.
