IIUI LAUNCHES SMOKING FREE CAMPUS CAMPAIGN

A one month-long awareness campaign for making university smoking free and adopting healthy lifestyle commenced here at new campus of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).

First program, in connection with the one month awareness campaign was conducted at female campus which was chaired by Director Female campus Dr. Farkhanda Zia.

In the session, Dr. Asia Tahir – Senior Medical Officer being the resource person involved the audience in exercises with tip of adopting those on daily basis. She also urged for the simple diet and stressed to refrain from junk food. Ms Rabia Mushtaq , Lecturer Psychology Department IIUI also delivered a lecture in this regard and highlighted the element of will power for making habit of healthy activities.

Dr. Farkhanda Zia also addressed the program and said that cleanliness was an imperative attribute stressed by Islam. She opined that schools and universities must come forward for such campaign to deliver in the society. She also hailed Mr. Jehanzaib Waqas nd Nadia Malik (Assistant Directors) for their efforts regarding the campaign.

The campaign will continue at all the campuses of the university till mid of March and it will cover class discussions, walks, motivational videos, ,dissemination of awareness material and other constructive activities.
