International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and Indonesia’s Darunnajah foundation have vowed to have mutual cooperation in the field of education through MoU and by preparing a roadmap for exchange of faculty and launch joint training programmes.
On Monday, a high level Indonesian delegation headed by Iwan Suyudhie Amri, Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan and Dr. Sofwan Manaf, Principal Darunnajah School System visited IIUI and met with its Acting President Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, Vice President Dr.Muhammad Munir, Director Academics Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily, Director General Khalid Mehmood Raja and other high officials.
This meeting was part of a proposed MoU agreed between the both sides few months ago. It was agreed on the occasion that soon an MoU would be signed by the both sides to expand bilateral cooperation in various disciplines.
“IIUI is a unique hub of learning, its collaborations with Indonesian educational institutions can bring positive results in the field of education and the discussed MoU between IIUI and Darunnajah will be a milestone in this regard” said the Indonesian Envoy who also assured that his office will also work as a bridge between IIUI and Indonesian educational institutions.
Dr. Sofwan Manaf said on the occasion that Darunnajah University is interested in learning from expertise of IIUI’s Arabic faculty, while a lot of opportunities in the field of education can be explored mutually.
Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan said that educated youth is necessary for a prosperous and vibrant society and IIUI would keep playing its role to nurture young minds according to contemporary requirements in the light of Islamic teachings. He reiterated his resolve that university doors are open for cooperation with the educational institutions of all the countries. He also apprised the delegation about the MoUs signed by the university and told that university was providing a perfect milieu of learning to the students of more than 40 countries. Later, delegates also visited IIUI’s central library and various departments.
