IIUI Holds Seminar on Youth and Democracy

The Directorate of Students Advisor Office at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a seminar on “How the Youth are Reshaping Democracy.”

 

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Ghufran acknowledged the guest speaker from Bangladesh and underlined the role of youth in strengthening democratic values. Dr. Noor Fatima, Chairperson, Department of Politics and International Relations, spoke on Bangladesh’s economic progress and political transformation.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Alauddin Mohammad, Executive Director of the Institute for Policy, Governance and Development (IPGAD), Bangladesh. He expressed his respect for Pakistan, noting the shared history and culture of the two countries. Highlighting Bangladesh’s democratic journey, he said that youth played a decisive role in resisting oppression and driving political change, placing the country on a path of progress.

 

Professor Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, thanked the guest speaker and emphasized the importance of Pakistan-Bangladesh cooperation in political, economic, and strategic spheres. Dr. Ghufran concluded the seminar by reiterating that Pakistan and Bangladesh, as brotherly nations, can achieve greater growth by working together in South Asia.
