The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) conducted a Self-Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) on April 24 and 25, 2025.
The activity was organized by the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Development (QAD) in collaboration with the Directorate of Graduate Studies, as part of the implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
PREE focuses on evaluating academic programs to ensure alignment with national quality benchmarks while incorporating international standards adapted to local academic needs.
The review exercise at IIUI aimed to assess the effectiveness of MS and PhD programs and identify areas for improvement.
The review team, comprising Mr. Fazal Wahab, Director Quality Assurance at Bahria University, and Dr. Obaid Ullah, Manager QEC at NUML, conducted dedicated evaluation sessions on both days. They examined the structure, delivery, and outcomes of postgraduate programs and provided detailed feedback. Specific shortcomings were identified, and timelines were set for corrective actions.
The team also met with Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President IIUI, in his office. During the meeting, they discussed avenues for enhancing academic excellence and strengthening internal quality assurance mechanisms. In the end of meeting university souvenirs were presented to the reviewers by Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President IIUI in appreciation of their contributions.
