IIUI Concludes Faculty Development Program on AI in Teaching and Research

The Office of Professional Trainings, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), concluded a two-day faculty development program titled “Empowering Faculty with AI: Innovations in Teaching, Research, and Academic Excellence.”

 

The program aimed to equip faculty members with knowledge and practical skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for teaching, research, and academic innovation. Faculty from various disciplines attended the workshop, showing interest in adopting emerging technologies in higher education.

Sessions were conducted by Dr. Maryam Zaffar, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Ibadat International University, who has over 16 years of teaching and research experience. She discussed AI concepts, adaptive learning tools, research assistance, and ethical aspects of AI use in academia.

 

The training featured interactive demonstrations of AI tools and group activities where participants designed AI-based teaching and learning strategies. Discussions also addressed responsible AI use, including issues of bias, plagiarism, and academic integrity.

 

The initiative reflects the Directorate of Human Resource Management & Development’s commitment to professional development, preparing faculty to embrace technological advancements and lead innovative practices in higher education.
